Texture of the Rope

Today, as I was walking around the church, I was trying to take a photo that would contain more than one compositional element, and I took this one. I believe that this photograph is an excellent example of what I've learned so far, because it combines many compositional elements into one. One compositional element that this picture contains is texture. This photo has texture because it makes you want to touch the rope and feel the roughness of it. Another compositional element that this photo contains is a simplified background. I made sure that there were no distractions in the background to allow the viewer to focus on the rope. Also like all photographers I used the technique called the rule of thirds to take this. I made sure to locate the rope on the right side of the frame.
